Nigel Farage has been silenced like Donald Trump, said New Yorker’s ex-staffer

Nigel Farage is being silenced in exactly the same way as Donald Trump across the Atlantic, an ally and former staffer to the ex-US President has claimed.

Peggy Grande was speaking after reports suggesting ITV had opted not to broadcast remarks about Mr Trump made by Mr Farage during the former’s stint on I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.

Mr Farage, who has campaigned for Mr Trump in the US on a number of occasions, is currently in Australia competing in the popular reality show and is a long shot to be crowned King of the Jungle, according to bookmaker Paddy Power, which is offering odds of 12-1.

So far viewers have been treated to the sight of him eating a pizza topped with a camel’s udder and a cow’s udder.

They’ve also watched as the Brexiteer clashed with fellow contestants Fred Sirieix and Nella Rose on the subject of immigration.

Reporting from Down Under, GB News reporter Ben Leo claimed other scenes involving the 59-year-old had hit the cutting room floor.

He said: “I’ve discovered that a couple of days ago, Nigel had a discussion about his ally and good friend Donald Trump.

“The campmates seemed very interested, but we have not seen that on television. Why have ITV not played that?”

Ms Grande, who knows Mr Farage well as the former chairwoman of World For Brexit, was in no doubt about the explanation.

She told Express.co.uk: “The Left is afraid of letting people like Nigel Farage and Donald Trump talk because the left doesn’t really want the problems facing their nations and the world solved. They want the status quo.

“They want to say they care and say they are trying. But don’t want to solve their nation’s biggest problems, because their own progressive policies caused those problems.

“Nigel is an innovative, brilliant, and charismatic politician who could lead the UK out of stagnation and into greater opportunity and prosperity if more people would listen to him, not vilify him.”

Ms Grande added: “The media continues to suppress stories that go against their preferred narrative.

“Nigel Farage speaking about the positive attributes of Donald Trump would certainly fit that criteria.

“It’s unfortunate the mainstream media does not trust their audiences to come to their own conclusions, without censoring opposing viewpoints to their own.

“This would have not only been an enlightening segment to the average viewer but would have been ratings gold.

“Yet they were cowardly in thinking they couldn’t risk exposure to these ideas. Ideas that work and provide solutions, unlike their own.”

Ms Grande admitted she was unable to watch the show from the US, but referring to the man tipped by many to regain the Presidency next year, she added: “The progressive left has painted itself into a corner when it comes to Donald Trump.

“On one hand, when they cover him, ratings go up and viewer engagement increases.

“On the other hand, when the media does talk about Donald Trump, even when they try to do it in an unflattering light, it tends to backfire.”

She claimed: “Donald Trump’s ideas and solutions for America and the world were ones that brought greater security, prosperity, opportunity and stability.

“When Donald Trump is mentioned, his ideas continue to dominate, because they worked.

“The left fears giving him air time, even at the expense of their own ratings.”

Separately, Express.co.uk has been told ITV is planning to broadcast allegations of racism against Mr Farage based on a video clip the GB News award-winning host and former Brexit Party leader made for Cameo – a personalised video messaging service.

Mr Farage’s team is angry because ITV’s I’m a Celebrity rules preclude him from having contact with the outside world – meaning he cannot respond to the claims.

A spokesman for Mr Farage said: He said: “Over the last few years, Nigel has filmed over 4,000 cameo messages for fans and supporters.

“This includes videos for people’s weddings, birthdays, stag dos, in-jokes between friends and even people who are ill in hospital.

“When Nigel first joined Cameo, there was a concerted effort by Remain supporters to hijack the platform to embarrass Nigel by getting him to read out obscure rude words and in-jokes between friends.”

He continued: “It is widely reported that some of these slipped through the net, as Nigel is a classic Boomer Dad.

“In the video, Nigel was asked by a customer on Cameo to read a message they had written for a friend.

“Had Nigel known that the message he was asked to read contained an obscure offensive word he would not have made the video.

“For ITV News to ask Nigel to respond when they know he contractually can’t is a complete stitch-up.”
