Bloomberg reports about a trial currently taking place in London between a trio of Russian billionaires of Alfa Group and a former British spy Christopher Steele.<\/strong><\/p>\n
In his dossier about alleged ties between Moscow and Donald Trump\u2019s campaign Steele named billionaires Mikhail Fridman, Petr Aven and German Khan \u201ccreatures of the Kremlin,\u201d who arranged for the delivery of \u201clarge amounts of illicit cash\u201d to Vladimir Putin in the 1990s.<\/strong><\/p>\n
The three deny any ties with Trump\u2019s campaign, and have filed a corresponding defamation claim against Steele in British court to \u201cclear their names\u201d, said Hugh Tomlinson, an attorney for the three.<\/p>\n
Fridman and his partners fear that Steele\u2019s report \u201cmake people think they have this corrupt relationship with President Putin,\u201d they also insist that their \u201crelationship with Russia\u2019s leaders was no more than that of a typical business group with government,\u201d and claim compensation for misuse of their data.<\/p>\n
