The Cabinet Office’s annual accounts have revealed that \u00a3237,000 was spent on legal support for Boris Johnson during the Commons’ Privileges Committee inquiry.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The accounts say that the taxpayer-funded support was granted “in line with the established precedent across multiple administrations” and “based on the principle that former Ministers may be supported with legal representation after they have left office when matters relate to their time and conduct as a Minister”.<\/p>\n
The document also says the total final cost to the taxpayer in relation to the whole inquiry was \u00a3263,079.\u00a0<\/p>\n
