‘Tories, working class? My ar**! Labour’s the party back with us’

Tomorrow we go to the polls. During this election I have been up and down the UK speaking to our members and the public about Labours transformative manifesto. Taking in areas such as Truro, Blackpool, Wigan, Crewe, Fleetwood, Warrington, Morecambe, Workington and Glasgow, I have heard from every type of voter.

What’s clear is that people want real change –  but what’s also true is the media and billionaire alliance have done a job on Jeremy Corbyn and Brexit. The way the media has attacked Jeremy Corbyn in recent years is an absolute disgrace.

But do you know what? I’m not having it. I’m not having decent working people thinking this is a free vote or believing this is just about ‘getting Brexit done’.

Anyone casting their vote for Boris Johnson in this election needs to be made to feel uncomfortable. They need to know they are voting for 150,000 children to be homeless this Christmas, they need to know they are voting for 4 year old Jack Williment-Barr to lie on a pile of coats in an A&E corridor, they need to know they are supporting a PM who has constantly lied throughout his whole career.

There are no free passes in this election. This isn’t about Brexit. It’s about our values and what type of country we want to live in. It’s about our NHS, Education and how we care for our elderly. It’s about getting a fairer deal for millions of people who are struggling to make ends meet because the world of work and the economy are rigged against working class people.

It’s about whether you choose hope over hate. Whether you want your children to have better life opportunities than you and whether you want to live in a society which covets billionaires whilst turning a blind eye to former armed services men and women sleeping on our streets.

In our heartlands the Tory and media money machine have some of you considering lending your vote to Johnson. This is the same Party who ripped mining communities to pieces and are now led by a PM who edited an article on Hillsborough which said of Liverpudlians: “They see themselves whenever possible as victims, and resent their victim status; yet at the same time they wallow in it.” – This is what you are voting for.

I have represented working class people my whole life. Never has the Tory Party had your interests at heart and never will they. Boris Johnson was born to serve his establishment constituency and make no mistake he always will.

We are at a fork in the road and it’s about whether you believe in the power of ‘we’ or ‘I’? – and let’s get real – only a Labour government will deliver for the working class. We need to knock doors, have uncomfortable conversations with our family members, speak to friends and colleagues, use social media, sent texts and do anything possible to get the message of hope out there.

Under Blair working people didn’t leave Labour. Labour left working people. Well it’s back now with a manifesto which would transform the UK and the life chances of you and your families.

Tories working class? My ar** – Vote Labour.
