The SNP leader faced a grilling from MSPs on Wednesday as part of a Holyrood committee investigation into claims there had been a “malicious and concerted” attempt to damage the reputation of her predecessor Alex Salmond. Scottish Conservatives have called on the First Minister to resign over the allegations, which Nicola Sturgeon has strongly denied. Following her committee performance, the party has released an edited video ridiculing Ms Sturgeon for her forgetfulness under questioning.
The edited committee footage was shared from the official Scottish Conservatives Twitter account on Thursday evening.
Reshared thousands of times in less than 24-hours, the video mocks the First Minister with a showreel of moments from the hearing where she was unable to recall certain facts or details.
In total 50 such moments are recorded.
Among these Ms Sturgeon is heard to say “I don’t know,” “I’m not aware,” “I can’t remember” and at one point “my memory is vague.”

A counter ticks in the corner of the video each time a clip is played showing the SNP leader recollection failing her.
As the count creeps up to 50 we hear Ms Sturgeon tell the committee “I ask myself ‘how could I have forgotten that?” in response to one question.
Elsewhere the First Minister replies to another MSP’s query with: “I can’t immediately recall exactly what it said.”
The video ends with a question to the view which reads: “If you were telling the truth, would you forget 50 times?

The ad has been reshared by a number of Scottish Tory MSPs on social media.
Jamie Green retweeted the video with an accompanying slapdown of the First Minister.
He wrote: “It’s remarkable that Nicola Sturgeon clearly remembers the details she believes exonerate her, but is fuzzy on the rest of it.
“In the end, this is an issue of trust.”

Meanwhile, the official Scottish Conservative Twitter account had shared the original clip with a comment blasting the reception Ms Sturgeon’s performance had received from her SNP colleagues.
They wrote: “This is the committee session that the SNP are hailing as the greatest piece of oratory since the Gettysburg Address.
“They said evidence was “dismantled” by the heir apparent to Lincoln, JFK, Churchill. Scotland’s Cicero.
“Will you look at the nick of this.”
