Sturgeon breaks cover after fears raised of her ‘imminent’ arrest
Nicola Sturgeon has been spotted leaving her house as the SNP’s woes continue. The former Scottish First Minister looked pensive as she was pictured outside her Glasgow home this morning.
It comes amid a Police Scotland investigation into the SNP’s finances which has seen the arrest of two party figures.
Ms Sturgeon’s husband Peter Murrell was detained earlier this month and questioned by detectives for 11 hours before being released without charge “pending further investigation”.
Police investigating the party’s finances also arrested the then SNP treasurer Colin Beattie on Tuesday, who was later released without charge.
Ms Sturgeon’s appearance today comes after mounting concerns within the SNP over the possibility of her arrest.
One SNP politician told The Times: “Nicola must be next to be interviewed, it’s inevitable”.
