POLL: Should ULEZ be expanded to YOUR town or city?
Nigel Farage shares views on imminent ULEZ expansion
Sadiq Khan’s controversial ULEZ expansion in London is set to take place on Tuesday despite reported attempts from some in Government to stop it.
All London boroughs in the capital will be swallowed into the scheme from August 29.
Some vehicles not up to emissions standards will be hit with a daily charge of £12.50 for driving within the ULEZ area.
The scheme has already faced stiff resistance, with nearly nine in 10 cameras put up to enforce the expansion having been stolen or damaged in southeast London according to crowd-sourced data.
Rishi Sunak’s plan to block the ULEZ expansion failed this week after the Government was advised its efforts would not stand up in court.

It’s not only Conservatives against the controversial plans — Sir Keir Starmer blamed Labour’s defeat in the Uxbridge and South Ruislip by-election on the scheme, telling Sky News that there was “no doubt that ULEZ was the reason that we lost”.
With the cost-of-living crisis still biting many households in the UK, there are concerns ULEZ could add more financial pressure to Britons going about their business.
Londoners with vehicles that do not meet ULEZ emissions standards now face a choice of paying the daily charge, getting a new vehicle, or applying for the scrappage scheme.
London Mayor Mr Khan has staunchly defended the plan to reduce harmful emissions, saying that clean air was “a human right, not a privilege”.
