How Colorado’s members of Congress voted on ouster of McCarthy

U.S. Rep. Ken Buck joined all of Colorado’s Democratic U.S. House members in voting Tuesday for the successful ouster of Speaker Kevin McCarthy — a first in congressional history.

The Republican from California lost a 216-210 vote to vacate the speaker’s chair, with eight hard-right Republicans, including Buck, joining 208 Democrats. The vote was prompted by discord within the Republican caucus that reached a climax over the weekend over McCarthy’s decision to work with Democrats to keep the federal government open, averting a shutdown.

Here is how Colorado’s House delegation voted Tuesday afternoon on the motion to oust McCarthy:

  • Diana DeGette, D-Denver: Yes
  • Joe Neguse, D-Lafayette: Yes
  • Lauren Boebert, R-Silt: No
  • Ken Buck, R-Windsor: Yes
  • Doug Lamborn, R-Colorado Springs: No
  • Jason Crow, D-Aurora: Yes
  • Brittany Pettersen, D-Lakewood: Yes
  • Yadira Caraveo, D-Thornton: Yes
