Monday’s Biggest Winners and Losers in the S&P 500
July 23, 2018: The S&P 500 closed up 0.2% at 2,806.97. The DJIA closed flat at 25,045.15. Separately, the Nasdaq was up 0.3% at 7,841.87.
Monday was a relatively positive day for the broad U.S. markets. Crude oil backed off in the session putting it even further below $70. The S&P 500 sectors were mostly negative. The most positive sectors were technology and financials up 0.5% and 1.4%, respectively. The worst performing sectors were industrials and utilities each down 0.6%.
