Fox News host’s defense of Trump: Should he have shot Putin?
Members of Congress called Donald Trump’s performance in Helsinki “shameful” and “disturbing.” Mitt Romney said it was “disgraceful.” In fact, even the president’s favorite network had some sharp words, with one host describing it as “disgusting” and that it “sets us back a lot.”

One Fox personality, however, backed her guy:
That’s Jeanine Pirro responding on Fox & Friends Tuesday morning to the criticism from both sides of the aisle.
“Putin said ‘I didn’t meddle in your election,” she continued. “So the president should say, ‘Hang on, let me execute this guy?’”
Normally, one might expect the hosts of Fox & Friends to nod in enthusiastic agreement with any guest defending Trump, but Abby Huntsman pushed back, asking why he didn’t stand by his intelligence community. Huntsman, it should be noted, is the daughter of Jon Huntsman, Trump’s ambassador to Russia.
Pirro’s answer: “The same intelligence community that said there were weapons of mass destruction that got us into a war?”
Watch the clip:
Pirro wasn’t the only one on Fox making excuses and engaging in what-aboutism. The primetime trio of Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham all took shots at the “destroy Trump media” for its coverage of the Helsinki press conference and Robert Mueller’s investigation.
