Big fuel discount hits supermarkets – but be quick as the offer is limited

August bank holiday weekend is the perfect time to get away and eke out the last few rays of summer. But driving down to the seaside can end up costing us a small fortune.

While you can usually get a better deal from supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons rather than at a petrol station that’s run by an oil company, petrol prices still feel like they’re constantly on the rise.

So cashback site TopCashback has teamed up with petrol stations all over the UK to offer new members that sign up to their site a free £15 to spend on fuel.

The offer can be used at almost any major petrol station, including all the supermarkets, as well as the Co-op, plus Esso, BP, Texaco, Gulf, Total, Jet, Murco & Shell, and is set to last until the 2nd September.

All you need to do to get the £15 freebie is keep your receipt from your fuel top-up, and TopCashback will reimburse you within two weeks.

The offer is limited to 4000 people – first come, first served – and will work on any fuel type.

To claim yours, simply follow the four easy steps below.

How do cashback sites work?

  • Instead of shopping directly through a store online, you access the retailer through a cashback website who will then get paid (by the brand) for ‘referring’ you to them.

  • Your transaction will continue as normal and your item will still arrive directly from the retailer, but the cashback website will pay you a cut of this payment as a reward for using its services, and as an incentive to encourage you to return.

  • This amount can be anything from 1% to £100 of your total spend – and you can use voucher codes to boost your saving that little bit further.

  • Your cashback will be sent back to you through your cashback account around 7-10 working days later.

  • However, with more complex services like travel and financial products, this period can be extended to six months.
