Alcoholic Baileys ice creams spotted in Tesco – but you need ID to buy them

While nothing says winter quite like a Baileys ice cream, why should the weather stop us from enjoying our favourite dessert slash drink.

Never, according to the alcohol brand, who has just revealed a brand new incarnation of the tipple, which is already sending hungry members of the public into a bit of a frenzy.

Baileys caramel sensation ice creams have been spotted in Tesco stores around the country, with excited shoppers posting pictures of the delicious sounding ice creams on instagram.

Sadly, the ice creams don’t come cheap, setting you back £3.89 for a box of four, available both in store and from the Tesco website online.

But it does appear you’re getting some value for money with your cold treats, as Tesco stores are asking customers for identification before they can buy them, so you’ll need to be over 18 – and able to prove it.

On the Tesco website, the description for the ice creams reads "For years now people all over the world have been falling in love with the luxurious taste of Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur.

And now there are even more ways to experience the flavour of Baileys by sampling our premium ice cream stick Caramel Sensation. Unleash the double taste experience of ice cream with the taste of Baileys coated with cacao frosting, salty caramel sauce and milk chocolate."

The ice creams were originally spotted by the Instagram user newfoodsuk, who often scout out interesting products they’ve spotted in supermarkets across the UK.

And this wasn’t the first frozen Baileys spot they’ve seen so far, having also found a whole tub of Baileys chocolate swirl ice cream for £4.50 earlier this week, also at Tesco.
